A vital part of Cyclades Place, placed in the heart of Apollonia, the capital of Sifnos, is the art gallery “Giomisti Kefali”. The gallery is an old mansion surrounded by a garden planted all over, about an acre in extent. The fretwork of the artist Giannis Gaitis which decorates the place’s garden wasn’t randomly chosen: it pays homage to this great artist who believed in the mass diffusion of art and who managed to diffuse his -scandalous in his time-work and to make this work an everyday experience through many generations all over the world.

The “Giomisti Kefali” art gallery, which has been initiated as a move not of companies or businessmen but as a move of amateurs, has the very same vision.
We believe that art has multiple faces and that nowadays it can’t be defined by commonly expressed adjectives, or by conventional definitions.

We love art as a stimulus, visual but also spiritual, and as a privilege that everyone has the right to enjoy. Also, we consider art to be a communication attempt between the artist as a “transmitter” and the viewer as a “receiver”. Through this gallery we want to diffuse this feeling and to encourage this effort to communicate. We are seeking and choosing the artists with an absolute subjective criterion: depending on how much they play with our emotions. But, isn’t that a definition of art?
